Amazing Grace TAB For 3-string Cigar Box Guitar

Another video lesson with free TAB for you today. This is a beginner-friendly piece to play, either as just the melody or just the chords as you sing the melody, or a chord melody where you play the melody and chords at the same time.

Simplified Chords For G, C and D On Cigar Box Guitar

There are so many songs you can play with just the chords G,C and D and you can play the 1-finger versions as shown in this article: https://beginnercbg.com/learn-your-first-three-chords-on-a-cigar-box-guitar/

But supposing you want something even more simple?

Even though the C chord doesn’t actually contain a C note, it works because the other 2 notes of the chord, E and G are played.

An Unusual Chord

I’ve also introduced an unusual chord that I really like the sound of, the C Maj7 sus chord. Don’t worry too much about the name. And if you don’t like the sound, substitute a C chord, either 555 or 020:

The Video Lesson

The lesson on YouTube has some footage of the sea near where I live as a bit of added interest:

Once again, I provide this arrangement free for your personal use.

This time it’s a 2-page download where the 2nd page has some strumming guidelines. This takes quite a lot of time to prepare and I’m not sure how valuable it is, so please leave a comment on the YouTube video if you find it helpful. Thanks very much.

Hope you enjoy playing this simple familiar song.

Thanks to Chris on YouTube pointing out that I’d uploaded the wrong version. Here is the version with the strumming pattern for the chord melody- section 3 on page 2:
